About the role

As a senior leader on the Risk and Data Science team, you will drive high-impact projects that influence the future of Flex. You will be directly leading our fast growing data science team responsible for developing and managing advanced risk and consumer behavior data science and machine learning models with the goal of maximizing LTV, managing financial risk and supporting key strategic decisions.

What you’ll do

  • Build and lead a dynamic data science team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Mentor and develop team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the team's continued success.
  • Create best-in-class consumer behavior and value models to optimize customer lifetime value (LTV) and drive sustainable growth.
  • Develop and implement cutting-edge risk management models, leveraging advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to effectively manage fraud/ credit financial loss on both consumers and partners sides.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into actionable data science strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data science, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Oversee the end-to-end life cycle of data science projects, from data collection and preprocessing to model development and deployment.
  • Provide strategic guidance on data-driven decision-making processes to enhance overall business performance.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of scalable data infrastructure and tools to support data science initiatives. Implement robust data governance practices to ensure the integrity, security, and quality of the data used in modeling.

Key qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, or computer science.
  • Proven leadership experience in building and managing high-performing risk management & data science teams.
  • Extensive expertise in developing risk models and consumer behavior models, with a track record of driving business impact.
  • Strong proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization tools. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business insights.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and effectively communicating data-driven recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance principles and practices.

The national pay range for this role is $236,000-$263,000 in base salary. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience aligned with Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
