About the role

The Revenue Accounting manager will report to the VP of Accounting. This role is hybrid with on-site expectations of 2-3 days per week in our New York Headquarters.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for end-to-end billing operations, revenue recognition under ASC 606, AR and collections
  • Ensure timely, accurate recording and reporting of Flex’s revenue and accounts receivable transactions on a monthly and quarterly basis, including oversight of month-end fluctuation analyses and account reconciliations.
  • Driving the roadmap for Flex’s revenue recognition policy and procedures
  • Maintaining and implementing changes related to ASC 606 guidance
  • Key involvement with prompt and reasonable guidance to Go-to-Market teams on non-standard agreements, with the goal of driving collaboration amongst cross functional teams
  • Partnering with Risk Product, Finance, and Sales teams to enable billing for new products and drive efficiencies in overall order-to-cash process
  • Analyzing revenue and AR data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Proposing and recommending accounting updates to our AR reserve methodology; defining and creating a scalable process for identifying revenue vs. bad debt provision reserves
  • Play a key role in driving change and continuous improvement in the Order to Cash cycle.
  • Lead reporting and serve as subject matter expert in all revenue and AR-related areas during financial statement audits or due diligence

Key qualifications

  • 8+ years accounting experience in financial environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A) in Accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 codification as it relates to accounting and revenue recognition for financial market instruments/products
  • Hands on experience with contract reviews and due diligence
  • Proven self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, communication and analytical business acumen
  • CPA or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously and handle adverse and urgent situations with rapid changes in priorities.
  • Strong PC background with working knowledge of ERP and financial systems.
  • Proven time management and project management ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

The national pay range for this role is $143,000-$160,000 in base salary. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience aligned with Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
